Jameson's Army is a nonprofit organization (501c3) dedicated to raising awareness and funding for children and families affected by congenital heart defects (CHD) in the Pittsburgh, PA, and Southwestern PA regions. Named in honor of Jameson McKain, who was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), the organization has a mission to support those facing similar challenges. Jameson underwent six open-heart surgeries and received a heart transplant at just 11 months old. Today, at 11 years old, Jameson is thriving!
Jameson's Army works closely with The Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (CHP), The Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center, Your Child's Place, and other medical facilities and families impacted by CHD in the Pittsburgh area. Through various initiatives, including fundraisers, the organization provides therapeutic heart pillows for recovery, quarterly holiday meals for families and staff, toy drives, and fulfilling family and hospital wish lists. Additionally, monthly food and item drops are made to the heart center at CHP. While our primary focus is supporting families affected by CHD, Jameson's Army is passionate about spreading awareness of the condition.
